Twilight Festival & Concert
Artists
in Partnership, Inc. (AIP), a non-profit cultural arts organization,
will host a Twilight Festival & Concert in Kennedy Plaza,
1 W. Chester St., Long Beach, NY on Sunday, August 7th,
from 4PM to 9 PM. The event is free to the public.
This festival and concert will bring together
hundreds of artists and members of the community in a celebratory
experience, highlighted by sea-themed musical pieces from
noted local performers. This event will also host artists’
booths displaying visual and craft works relating to ocean
and beach themes. A pre-concert program will include performances
for the whole family as well as special arts activities
for children.
Orchestral performances and original musical
pieces will be coordinated and directed by Christopher Kaufman,
founder and director of CHIRON Performing Arts. Mr. Kaufman
is also a noted teacher, musician and composer. He recently
presented and conducted his original musical “Pickles
and the Junkman,” at the United Nations as part of
the Tsunami Relief Benefit Event, before guests, dignitaries
and the Secretary General.
All performances are free to the public, in
a park-setting, with convenient local eateries and ample
near-by parking. Lawn chairs are recommended, and the event
will be held rain or shine.
This event is made possible, in part, with
public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts
Decentralization Program, administered by the Long Island
Arts Council at Freeport, and by Long Beach Reach; as well
as generous donations of in-kind services and financial
support from members of our “caring about the arts”
community sponsorship program. To become a sponsor for our
