Artists in Partnership to Hold Second Twilight Festival & Concert
(Long Beach, NY, June 27, 2006) - Artists in Partnership, Inc. (AIP), a non-profit cultural arts organization, will host a Twilight Festival & Concert in Kennedy Plaza, 1 W. Chester St., Long Beach, NY on Sunday, August 6th, from 1PM to 9 PM. The event is free to the public.
This festival and concert will bring together hundreds of artists and members of the community in a celebratory experience “under the stars”, highlighted by a tribute to Long Beach’s Centennial “From Sandbar to City”. This event will also host artists’ booths displaying visual works and handmade crafts. A pre-concert program will include performances for the whole family as well as special arts activities for children.
Performances on the MainStage include the Long Beach Concert
Band conducted by Alex Marks, The New York Exceptions (a doo-wop
group), The Eduardo Acosta Trio (a Latin jazz band), Flute
Sweets & Tickletoons (storytheatre), the Evangel Revival
Community Church Ensemble (gospel choir), Rinaldo Toglia (Italian
tenor), the Irish DJ Tony Fallon, Swingtime Entertainment
(Buddy Holly tribute) and swing dancing demos and lessons,
Circulo De La Hispanidad Flamenco Dancers, Renaissance School
for Children music program, Cantor David Katz, Soprano Anita
Darian, Long Beach Historian Roberta Fiore, Tribal Wind Arts
(Native American flute music), MC Robert James.
All performances are free to the public, in a park-like setting, with convenient local eateries and ample near-by parking. Lawn chairs are recommended, and the event will be held rain or shine.
