ARTISTS IN PARTNERSHIP -- OUR MISSION
AIP's mission is to foster a partnership between the arts and the community at large in order to -
- raise the visibility of the arts in Long Beach, New York and the surrounding area, and thus support current efforts and create new avenues of collaboration and develop venues for exhibits and performance
- unite our artists (literary, performing, and visual) in a unique creative network and assist in getting their talents seen and shared with the community
- bring other segments of the population (individual patrons, business, library, educational institutions, and governmental agencies) into the dialogue so that all the arts can gain support.

Vision
As a totally volunteer organization funded primarily by membership dollars, AIP is soliciting grant and foundation monies to strengthen the organization. AIP’s long range goal is to obtain a venue to provide arts to the residents of our community and beyond. AIP is currently providing quality entertainment and youth programming as well as working on collaborating with other arts groups and city government to form a unique arts alliance, a local Advisory Board on the Arts. AIP strives to provide a nurturing environment for artists to flourish individually as well as to encourage cross-cultural and inter-generational endeavors.
History
AIP began as a dream. In July, 2000, the people of Long Beach were invited to a meeting at the Public Library to voice their suggestions on developing a vision for the arts in our community. Over 65 participants listed various projects and a grass roots organization developed to begin to implement these ideas and revitalize the local arts scene. Artists In Partnership incorporated in October, 2000 and became an official 501 ©(3) organization in the summer of 2003. In 2004, AIP received a $2,000 grant, and in 2005, an $1,800 and a $1,300 grant from the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program through the Long Island Arts Council. Since then, AIP has been the recipient of numerous grants through the Huntington Arts Council, from the JP Morgan Chase Foundation as well as legislative grants from State Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg and State Senator Dean Skelos, as well as funding from County Legislator Denise Ford. AIP continues its outreach to the community with the annual Cabaret Festivals, the Barrier Beach Blues Festivals, the Folk 2 Funk Festival, the Kickin' Country on the Barrier Beach Festival and Hip Hop Keeping it Real...Positive Festival.
